Having never met Steve, I spoke to him on the phone all the way from Europe and he was so welcoming and was very interested in hearing my car’s problem and helping me out as much as he could. I could tell that Steve is very, very passionate about what he does and one can tell that he is very knowledgeable about how cars work and can pinpoint the problem without even seeing the car first. In my case he worked with me and with my mechanic in Greece to get to the bottom of was happening. I haven’t had a problem since this happened six months ago. Amazing! Steve sent me detailed information and what the problem could be from my description of things and events. Absolute Car Care is hands down the best mechanic in Brisbane. … More My first service with them was in 2020 and I was seen by Michael (one of the owners). I had a major service to prepare for a 40hr round road trip and they took the utmost care with my car, diagnosing problems that no one had been able to tell me up until that point. They showed me photos, detailed everything that needed fixing in the quote and took their time ensuring that my car was in the best condition to drive. The battery they put in my car lasted me about 4 years! I only just got it changed! And every major part they've replaced has lasted the test of time.
My second visit was a couple years later for another major service. At the time I had been approached by a door salesman from a more mainstream mechanic shop, offering me a 'great deal' on my next service. Long story short I felt ripped off and disrespected by them. Since they already charged me upwards of $850-900 for a STANDARD SERVICE, I decided that I had to go back to Absolute Car Care and get any of the other major concerns addressed by this mainstream mechanic shop fixed by them. Safe to say the quote I got from Absolute Car Care was significantly more affordable and I had confidence that they would have quality work.
Fast forward a couple more years and something has happened with my gearstick. I called Absolute Car Care yesterday afternoon to see if they could help at all. Steve (one of the owners) answered and talked me through the possibile reasons why this had happened. My car was left in a shopping centre carpark the suburb over from their workshop, as it brokedown the night before. Steve generously offered to meet me at my car that evening and was confident he could get my car in working condition to take it to their shop that night. Mind you, he offered to do this on his own time, after working hours, out of the kindness of his heart. Because of this, I didn't have to pay out for a tow truck and pay crazy fees, since my car was stuck in a shopping centre carpark with roof height limitations.
He got my car working, and I was able to drop my car off after hours. Michael assured me that they would try to have it done before I had to go to work the next day... and they did! By 2pm today I was able to come and pick up my car. They worked on my car on such short notice and got it to me asap. I'm truly in awe of their professionalism and expertise.
For the past 5 years, Michael, Steve and their staff at Absolute Car Care have been the gold standard I compare every other mechanic I've been to. Within the last 5 years I've had to go to other shops for various reasons and no one has been able to match the quality of service Absolute Car Care provides. Not only do they treat people with respect, they also treat everyone with kindness. They truly give back to the community and as a woman, I have never felt taken advantage of and upsold on any level with them. They try to use the highest quality parts, talk me through everything and take their time with my car, making sure that quality remains paramount.
I am so grateful that the first mechanic I chose to take my car to after moving to Brisbane 5 years ago was Absolute Car Care. My old car is still alive and running (against all odds mind you) because of Steve and Michael. Thank you for always taking care of my car through all these years. On a road trip along the east coast, we had a break down and had to get the car towed somewhere urgently … More as we were attending a wedding 4 days laters up north.
This lovely team took extreme care of us straight away, understanding the situation and getting us an extremely professional car check over done in one day.
From Georgia which is absolutely devoted to get the customer feel understood and taken care of, to the brothers Steve and Michael (the owners), we encountered a team of passionate, experienced and experts mechanics.
They realised that we’ve been previously ripped off by the mechanic that did our car’s roadworthy. And warned us about the deadly car that this guy let us go with.
They took 1h30 to explain us all the problems and how to deal with it, even if the shop was supposed to be closed since then.
As we had nowhere to sleep overnight, they proposed us to stay in one of their parking lot, providing power, water and shower.
We left the place with a big smile after the other fixes had been done (in 24h!!) and we will definitely get to this workshop if we decide to do the other fixes that has to be done on our car.

The team is very friendly, and welcome any questions - truly breaking the stereotypical experience I hear a lot of young woman are encountering with city mechanics. The team take the time to explain every item in the service report (with photos where applicable). Before making recommendations on additional works for authorisation, the team advise of the urgency associated with each item, anticipated time for parts to be delivered and how long you have until the item will need to be addressed so you are able to plan your servicing needs with no nasty surprises. 10/10.

I take both my wife's Renault Megane and my Honda Accord for regular servicing and maintenance at Absolute, and always feel confident in the professionalism of the mechanics that the job is correctly managed. A basic service is very well priced, and the report recieved at the end of the service outlines any further repairs or maintenance that would be required. Michael takes a significant amount of time to explain what needs to be done and why, and makes it easy for someone who isn't mechanically minded to understand what is going on.
Courtesy cars are also provided if booked in advance which makes it easy to get around whilst your car is being service, and when you pick up your car it looks lovely as they do a complimentary light vacuum/clean.

I’ve been taking my car to Absolute Care Car for years and can honestly say it’s been the best experience! … More They’ve always provided me with a courtesy car when I’ve needed one. During the day, the owner Michael always calls to explain what needs to be fixed (according to what the mechanics see needs replacing or fixing) and he seeks permission to go ahead with anything falling outside of the standard service. It’s always communicated clearly when my car is ready. Upon pick up he takes the time to explain what they have done and what can wait, to be fixed at the next service. They don’t just fix things for the sake of it or because the log book says so. Which I really appreciate. The cherry on top is that they do a quick wash and vacuum of my car prior to collection. Absolute Car Care are affordable, genuine, honest and I’d recommend them in a heartbeat. Thanks guys!
